Benetton Treviso 93-90 Aquila Basket Trento: Road Win in Lega Basket Serie A Thriller

Benetton Treviso secured a hard-fought 93-90 road victory over Aquila Basket Trento on October 4, 2026, in the Lega Basket Serie A. The game was decided in the closing minutes, with Treviso’s composure at the free-throw line and on late possessions proving the difference.

Trento fought back from an early deficit and had chances to force overtime, but Benetton Treviso made the bigger plays down the stretch to leave with a valuable away win.

Match Overview

The contest featured sharp shooting from both sides and multiple lead changes. Trento leaned on their home crowd and interior scoring, while Treviso relied on perimeter shooting and quick ball movement.

• First quarter: Aquila Basket Trento 22-24 Benetton Treviso
• Second quarter: Aquila Basket Trento 25-21 Benetton Treviso
• Third quarter: Aquila Basket Trento 20-24 Benetton Treviso
• Fourth quarter: Aquila Basket Trento 23-24 Benetton Treviso

The one-point edge in the final quarter was enough for Treviso, who finished the game with better execution in the half-court.

Key Moments

With just over three minutes remaining, Trento held a narrow lead and seemed to have momentum. Benetton Treviso responded with a clutch three-pointer and a driving layup to flip the score. Trento had a look to tie in the final seconds, but the attempt rimmed out, sealing the 93-90 result.

The decisive run came after Trento had tied the game at 80-80. Treviso scored on three consecutive possessions, including a corner three and two free throws, to build a cushion they would not surrender.

Tactical Story

Benetton Treviso’s offense was at its best when the ball touched the paint before swinging to shooters. Trento’s defense helped aggressively on drives, and Treviso punished them with skip passes and open catch-and-shoot opportunities.

Trento, meanwhile, dominated the offensive glass for stretches but could not convert enough second-chance points. Their half-court offense became predictable late in the game, relying on isolation plays rather than the ball movement that had worked earlier.

Standout Performers

Treviso’s guards were the story, combining to score over 40 points and controlling the tempo in the fourth quarter. Their ability to break down Trento’s perimeter defense created open looks for teammates and drew fouls at critical moments.

Aquila Basket Trento received a strong performance from their frontcourt, which scored efficiently around the basket and kept the team in the game. However, Trento’s three-point shooting abandoned them in the final minutes, finishing the night with several costly misses from beyond the arc.

Season Impact

This 93-90 win gives Benetton Treviso an important road result in the Lega Basket Serie A standings. Road victories in Italy’s top league are precious, especially against a Trento side known for its intensity at home.

For Aquila Basket Trento, the loss is a frustrating one, but the performance showed they can compete with high-level opponents. Both teams will now turn their attention to the next round of Serie A fixtures, with Treviso looking to build momentum and Trento aiming to bounce back quickly.
