Cayirova Belediyesi 85-100 Fenerbahçe Tarfin — Fenerbahçe Tarfin made the trip to Kocaeli and left with a statement road win, controlling the second half to beat Cayirova Belediyesi 100-85 in Basketbol Super Ligi action. The visitors reached the century mark behind balanced scoring and a decisive third-quarter surge, while the hosts were left to rue a stretch of empty possessions that turned a competitive game into a double-digit defeat.

A Close First Half Before the Breakaway

For 20 minutes, Cayirova Belediyesi looked every bit the equal of their more decorated opponents. The home side attacked the rim with purpose early, pushing the ball in transition and finding rhythm from the perimeter, and they traded baskets with Fenerbahçe through a tight opening quarter that ended 26-22 in favor of the visitors. The second period was even tighter, with both teams matching each other almost point for point, and the teams went into the locker room separated by only four points.

The momentum shifted almost immediately after the restart. Fenerbahçe Tarfin came out of halftime with a sharper defensive edge, switched aggressively on screens and closed off the driving lanes that Cayirova had exploited so effectively in the first half. The result was a 27-19 third quarter that opened up a lead the home team never seriously threatened again.

Key Moments

The defining passage of the game came midway through the third quarter, when Fenerbahçe strung together a run built on defensive stops and quick outlet passes. A pair of transition finishes and an open three-pointer from the wing stretched the margin into double figures for the first time, forcing Cayirova Belediyesi into a timeout. Out of the break, the hosts briefly steadied themselves with a basket inside, but Fenerbahçe answered immediately with a corner three that effectively broke the game open.

Early in the fourth, Cayirova had one more push left. A quick 6-0 burst trimmed the deficit and briefly brought the home crowd back into it, but Fenerbahçe responded with a patient half-court possession that ended in an and-one, followed by a steal and layup that restored full control. From there, the visitors managed the clock, protected the ball and converted their free throws to close out the win.

Tactical Story of the Game

The match turned on Fenerbahçe Tarfin's ability to dictate tempo in the second half. In the opening 20 minutes, Cayirova Belediyesi succeeded in making the game fast and chaotic, and that suited their guard play. After halftime, Fenerbahçe slowed the pace, forced the hosts to play deeper into the shot clock and dared them to score over a set defense. That adjustment paid off: Cayirova's assist-to-turnover ratio dipped, and their half-court offense grew increasingly reliant on contested jump shots.

On the other end, Fenerbahçe's interior passing and offensive rebounding created second-chance points that steadily widened the gap. The visitors also got to the free-throw line more often in the second half, a sign of their willingness to attack the paint rather than settle for perimeter shots.

Standout Performers

Fenerbahçe Tarfin's scoring was spread across the rotation, with their backcourt controlling the rhythm of the game and their forwards doing the damage on the boards. The team's efficiency — cracking 100 points on the road — underlined the depth of the roster and the quality of their shot selection in the closing 20 minutes.

Cayirova Belediyesi deserved credit for their first-half performance. Their guards were aggressive off the dribble, and their big men finished well around the rim when given clean looks. The problem was sustainability: once Fenerbahçe tightened its defense, the hosts lacked a reliable secondary scoring source to keep the game close.

What It Means for the Standings

For Fenerbahçe Tarfin, this is the kind of road result that reinforces title ambitions in the Basketbol Super Ligi — a comfortable win, a century of points and no late drama. For Cayirova Belediyesi, the defeat is a reminder of the fine margins at this level: they competed for a half but were undone by a single dominant stretch. Improving third-quarter execution and limiting turnovers will be top priorities as the season progresses.

The two sides will not have to wait long for a potential rematch, and if Cayirova can carry their first-half form across a full 40 minutes, the head-to-head could
