How the Lions Won It

The Lions set the tone with a 12-0 run in the first quarter, forcing Nyon into turnovers and hurried shots. Their perimeter defense was particularly effective, closing out on shooters and contesting every catch-and-shoot opportunity. On offense, Geneva shared the ball exceptionally well, finishing with 22 assists as a team and repeatedly finding the open man against Nyon’s rotating defense.

Geneva’s inside-out game was a problem all night. When Nyon collapsed on drives, the Lions kicked the ball to the corners for open threes. When Nyon stayed home on shooters, Geneva attacked the rim with purpose. That offensive balance, combined with a 42-31 rebounding advantage, kept the home side in full control.

Key Moments

The game’s defining moment came late in the first quarter, when Geneva turned a 12-10 lead into a 24-10 advantage with a relentless run. Nyon never recovered fully, though they showed resilience in the second half with a brief 8-2 spurt. Geneva answered immediately with back-to-back three-pointers, extinguishing any hope of a comeback.
