Jabari Smith Jr.
Houston Rockets/F/
United StatesPlayer Info
Jabari Smith Jr., the highly-touted forward for the Houston Rockets, is a cornerstone of the franchise's rebuild with his elite shooting and defensive potential. The son of former NBA player Jabari Smith, he was a star at Auburn University before being selected 3rd overall in the 2022 NBA Draft. Smith entered the league with a reputation as a prototypical modern power forward: a 6'10" sharpshooter with the ability to protect the rim. His rookie season was a learning experience, but he showed flashes of his smooth jumper and defensive instincts. In his second year, Smith made significant strides, improving his consistency, rebounding, and confidence, becoming a reliable starter. As part of Houston's exciting young core, Smith's development into a two-way star is critical for the Rockets' ascent, and his ceiling remains exceptionally high.
