Jalen Smith
Chicago Bulls/PF/
United StatesPlayer Info
Jalen Smith is a versatile power forward/center who brings floor-spacing and energetic play to the Chicago Bulls frontcourt. The 25-year-old from Baltimore, Maryland, was a highly-touted prospect selected 10th overall by the Phoenix Suns in the 2020 NBA Draft out of the University of Maryland. His early career in Phoenix was inconsistent, but a trade to the Indiana Pacers provided the opportunity for a breakout, where he thrived as a stretch big who could protect the rim. This resurgence led to a multi-year deal with the Bulls, where his skill set complements their core. Smith's main honors include being named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team. His game is defined by a reliable three-point shot for a big man, excellent timing as a shot-blocker, and a non-stop motor on the glass. Nicknamed "Stix," Smith has transformed his career by fully embracing the modern role of a mobile, shooting big. He is now a crucial part of Chicago's rotation, providing valuable minutes off the bench with his unique combination of size and skill.
