Toronto Raptors/SG/
CanadaPlayer Info
RJ Barrett, the scoring wing for the Toronto Raptors, has returned home as a foundational piece for Canada's NBA franchise, bringing a powerful, attacking style of play. The 25-year-old Toronto native was the third overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks after a celebrated season at Duke University. He spent four and a half seasons in New York, developing into a consistent 20-point-per-game scorer and a fan favorite at Madison Square Garden. A blockbuster trade in 2024 brought him to the Raptors, fulfilling a dream of playing for his hometown team. Barrett's game is built on physical drives to the basket, improved playmaking, and a growing defensive presence. He has already represented Canada with distinction on the international stage, winning a bronze medal at the 2023 FIBA World Cup. While an NBA All-Star nod has eluded him so far, his talent and work ethic are undeniable. In Toronto, Barrett is seen as a core building block, expected to lead the Raptors' next era alongside Scottie Barnes with his scoring punch and competitive fire.
