Sam Merrill
Cleveland Cavaliers/G/
United StatesPlayer Info
Sam Merrill is a sharpshooting guard for the Cleveland Cavaliers, having carved out a vital niche as one of the most lethal three-point specialists in the NBA. The 29-year-old from Bountiful, Utah, was a college star at Utah State University, finishing as the school's all-time leader in three-pointers made before being the final pick (60th overall) in the 2020 draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. After a championship season with the Bucks, Merrill's journey included G League stops and a brief stint with the Memphis Grizzlies before finding a home in Cleveland. With the Cavaliers, he has emerged as a microwave scorer off the bench, capable of single-handedly swinging games with his rapid-fire shooting from deep, memorably hitting eight threes in a quarter during a 2023 game. A two-time Mountain West Player of the Year, Merrill's elite shooting stroke and quick release make him a constant gravity threat on the floor, providing essential spacing for the Cavs' offense.
