The Takamatsu Five Arrows were a professional basketball team based in Takamatsu, Kagawa, Japan, that competed in the bj League, a former top-tier professional league in the country. The team played its home games at the Takamatsu City General Gymnasium. Founded in 2006 as an expansion franchise, the team's name and arrow-themed logo reflected the local historical figure Chikamatsu Monzaemon. The Five Arrows had a period of competitiveness in the late 2000s, making the bj League playoffs on multiple occasions behind the scoring of imports like Jeff Newton and Cohey Aoki. The modern era for the club, however, was challenging, often finishing near the bottom of the standings. The team culture struggled to gain a strong foothold in a competitive sports market. Ultimately, the franchise was dissolved in 2015 following the merger that formed the new B.League, marking the end of a nine-year chapter for professional basketball in Takamatsu. The Five Arrows are remembered as a pioneering club in the early days of Japan's professional basketball expansion.
