Team Info

VEF Riga Juniors is the youth development team of the legendary VEF Riga club, competing in the Latvijas Basketbola līga (LBL). Based in the capital city of Riga, this team serves as the primary feeder system for one of the Baltic region's most storied basketball organizations. They play their home games at the VEF basketball complex, a facility dedicated to cultivating talent. The team was established with the explicit mission of developing Latvian youth within the professional environment of the top league, providing them with invaluable experience against seasoned veterans. Historically, the Juniors have been a launching pad for numerous Latvian national team players, who cut their teeth in the physically demanding LBL. Their games are a showcase of future stars, often featuring a fast-paced, aggressive style of play. The current squad is typically composed of the most promising teenagers and young adults from the VEF academy, guided by coaches who emphasize fundamental development. While wins are not the sole measure of success, competing fiercely against established clubs is a point of pride. VEF Riga Juniors is a cornerstone of Latvia's basketball future.
