Aguilas FC B and Alcantarilla Share the Spoils in a Tense Murcian Derby

Sunday evening football in the Spanish Tercera División RFEF served up a compelling local rivalry as Aguilas FC B and Alcantarilla fought out a hard-earned 1-1 draw at the Ciudad Deportiva de Águilas. The match, played on September 6, 2026, had a little bit of everything: an early spark, a period of sustained pressure, and a nervy finale that left both sets of supporters with reasons to be both satisfied and frustrated.

The visitors struck first, silencing the home crowd with a well-worked move that exposed the Águilas defensive line. Alcantarilla’s opener came from a swift counter-attack, finished clinically after the home side had pushed too many players forward. It was a warning sign that the Murcian outfit would not simply sit back and defend.

Águilas B Respond with Grit and Equaliser

Rather than crumble, Águilas FC B grew into the contest. Their equaliser arrived midway through the second half, a moment of individual quality that brought the crowd to life. A corner was only half-cleared, and the ball fell nicely on the edge of the box for a home midfielder, who curled a precise strike into the bottom corner. It was no more than the hosts deserved after a sustained spell of possession.

In the closing stages, both teams pushed for a winning goal. Alcantarilla went close with a header from a free-kick, while Águilas B saw a powerful shot whistle narrowly over the crossbar. In the end, a draw felt like a fair outcome, with both sides showing enough to suggest they will be competitive in the Tercera RFEF this season.
