Al Nawair emerged victorious in a high-scoring affair, defeating Musfat Banyas 4-2 at home in the Syrian Premier League on February 28, 2016. The six-goal thriller provided plenty of entertainment for the fans, with Al Nawair's attack finally clicking to secure a much-needed three points. The match kicked off at 8:00 PM and was likely end-to-end from the start. Al Nawair probably established a lead, but Musfat Banyas fought back to level, perhaps even twice, before the hosts' superior finishing in the latter stages decided the contest. This result was a vital confidence booster for Al Nawair after a couple of narrow defeats, proving they could outscore opponents. For Musfat Banyas, conceding four goals was another defensive nightmare in a difficult season, despite showing some offensive threat. The match had significant implications for the lower reaches of the league table.
