But FK Kapaz Ganca were organised and dangerous on the counter, and they landed the first significant blow after just 12 minutes. A quick exchange on the edge of the box opened space for Elvin Rzayev, who struck a low shot into the bottom corner.

Tactical Story

However, Kapaz Ganca’s 4-4-2 mid-block made it difficult for Araz to find pockets between the lines. The visitors conceded possession in wide areas but protected the central corridor well, forcing Araz into hopeful crosses.

Kapaz’s counter-attacking was the defining feature of the match. Their first goal came from a rapid transition, and their second arrived when Araz committed too many players forward. The away side’s efficiency in front of goal was the difference between the teams.

Ultimately, Kapaz’s defensive unit deserved the plaudits for a resilient away display.
