Potkozarje claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Slavija Sarajevo in the BIH PL-RS on 10 October 2026, using a disciplined defensive performance and a decisive second-half goal to secure all three points. In a match short on clear chances, Potkozarje’s ability to defend their lead proved the difference.

Match Overview

Slavija Sarajevo saw more of the ball for long periods, but Potkozarje’s compact shape made it difficult for them to find space in the final third. The home side defended deep, kept the lines close together, and looked to strike on the counter or from set pieces. That approach paid off with the only goal of the game.

• Competition: BIH PL-RS
• Final score: Potkozarje 1-0 Slavija Sarajevo
• Date: 10 October 2026
• Venue: Potkozarje

Key Moment

The breakthrough arrived in the 67th minute. After a series of corners, Potkozarje finally found the target when Nikola Jovanović rose highest at the near post and glanced a header beyond the goalkeeper. It was a goal that rewarded the home side’s persistence from dead-ball situations and punished Slavija Sarajevo for failing to clear their lines.

Tactical Battle

Slavija Sarajevo tried to build patiently through midfield, but Potkozarje’s midfielders blocked central passing lanes and forced play wide. When crosses did arrive, the centre-back pairing dealt with them confidently. Potkozarje were not afraid to sit back after scoring, inviting pressure and then breaking quickly through the channels. Slavija pushed more players forward late on, but their final ball lacked precision.

Standout Players

Jovanović will take the plaudits for the winning goal, while goalkeeper Dragan Savić produced two important saves in the second half to preserve the clean sheet. The Potkozarje defence as a whole deserved credit for limiting Slavija Sarajevo to half-chances. For Slavija, the midfield worked hard but could not unlock a well-organised opponent.

Season Impact

The victory lifts Potkozarje in the BIH PL-RS standings and adds valuable momentum to their campaign. Beating a side like Slavija Sarajevo 1-0 can be a confidence-building result, especially when the performance is built on resilience. Slavija Sarajevo leave with nothing despite periods of control, and they will need to turn possession into more dangerous chances in their next league fixture.
