FC Sevlievo edged a thrilling five‑goal contest at the Stadion Rakovski, defeating FK Chernomorets 1919 Burgas 3–2. The home side’s attacking flair proved decisive in an open and entertaining encounter.
End‑to‑end first half
The match exploded into life in the opening 20 minutes. Sevlievo took the lead in the 12th minute through striker Mladen Petrov, who tapped in after a goalmouth scramble. Chernomorets responded almost immediately, equalising in the 15th minute when midfielder Ivan Karadzhov curled a free kick over the wall. The second half was more cautious, with both sides wary of conceding. The decisive moment came in the 68th minute when Sevlievo’s substitute forward Dimitar Hristov latched onto a long ball, held off his marker, and slotted past the advancing goalkeeper. Chernomorets pushed for an equaliser but could not find a way past a resolute Sevlievo defence.
Key performer
Sevlievo’s attacking trio of Petrov, Georgiev and Hristov were constantly dangerous. Hristov, the eventual match‑winner, made an immediate impact after coming off the bench, showing the depth of squad the home side possesses.
Standings impact
The victory lifts Sevlievo to 7th place in the Vtora Liga, now only two points off the playoff zone. For Chernomorets 1919 Burgas, the defeat sees them drop to 10th, six points adrift of the top six.
