Match Info

Platense and Marathon drew 1-1 in a tightly contested Honduran Primera División clash on September 12, 2025. The result at the Estadio Excelsior was a fair reflection of a match where both teams created chances but were ultimately canceled out by determined defending. Marathon took the initiative early, scoring from a well-rehearsed set-piece in the 25th minute. Platense grew into the game and found their equalizer just after the hour mark, with a low drive from the edge of the box finding the bottom corner. The final half-hour saw end-to-end action, with both goalkeepers making crucial saves to preserve the point for their sides. A key moment was a disallowed goal for Marathon for a marginal offside call, which was confirmed by the assistant referee's flag. The draw leaves both teams in a congested middle section of the league table, with Marathon perhaps the more disappointed side after leading for a long period. The Platense manager praised his team's character to fight back, while the Marathon coach expressed disappointment at not seeing out the game from a winning position.
