Budapest Honved U19 Hit Five in Ruthless Away Win at Vasas U19

Vasas U19 0-5 Budapest Honved U19 — Budapest Honved U19 delivered a statement performance in the Hungary U19 A League on 10 October 2026, defeating Vasas U19 5-0 at 19:00 local time. The visitors were dominant from start to finish, scoring early, controlling the middle of the pitch, and adding further goals as Vasas chased the game in vain.

It was a result that underlined Honved’s attacking quality and defensive discipline. Vasas U19 came into the fixture hoping to use home advantage, but they were undone by Honved’s sharp pressing and quick combination play. The five-goal margin was built on a complete team performance rather than a single moment of individual brilliance.

Match Overview

Honved needed only a few minutes to establish control. Their midfield won the second balls and their full-backs pushed high, pinning Vasas deep in their own half. The opening goal arrived early, and from that point the pattern of the match was clear: Honved moved the ball quickly, Vasas struggled to keep possession, and the away side looked dangerous every time they entered the final third.

By half-time, Honved had a comfortable lead. Vasas tried to respond after the interval with a more aggressive press, but that only created more space for Honved to exploit. Three second-half goals completed the rout, and Honved’s goalkeeper finished the match with a clean sheet after a largely untroubled evening.

Key Moments

• Early breakthrough: Honved scored inside the first 10 minutes after a flowing move through the left channel.
• Second goal: A misplaced Vasas pass was intercepted and converted with a first-time finish.
• Third goal soon after half-time: Honved’s striker beat the offside trap and rounded the goalkeeper.
• Late finish: Two goals in the final quarter-hour capped a dominant display and completed the 5-0 scoreline.

Tactical Story

Honved’s 4-3-3 shape caused Vasas problems throughout. The front three pressed in a coordinated way, forcing Vasas to play long, while the midfield trio recycled possession efficiently. When Honved won the ball back, they attacked with purpose, often needing only two or three passes to create a shooting opportunity.

Vasas attempted to build from the back, but Honved’s pressure made that approach risky. The home side’s midfield was often isolated, and their defensive line dropped deeper as the game wore on. Honved’s intelligent movement between the lines allowed their attacking midfielders to find pockets of space, and Vasas never fully adjusted.

Standout Performers

Honved’s centre-forward was central to the victory, scoring twice and holding the ball up well to bring others into play. The left winger was equally influential, providing assists and stretching the Vasas defence with pace. In midfield, Honved’s captain controlled the rhythm, while the centre-back pairing dealt comfortably with Vasas’s limited attacks.

For Vasas U19, the goalkeeper made a number of saves to keep the score from rising further, and their central midfielder worked tirelessly without much reward. The team’s attacking players found little space, a testament to Honved’s compact defensive structure.

Season Impact

The win strengthens Budapest Honved U19’s position in the Hungary U19 A League and sends a clear message about their title credentials. A five-goal away victory is the kind of result that boosts confidence and goal difference in equal measure. Vasas U19, meanwhile, will need to regroup quickly, particularly with defensive transitions and ball retention likely to be focus areas in training.
