KF Ferizaj 2-0 KF Istogu: Hosts Claim Derby Bragging Rights in Kosovo Division 1

KF Ferizaj produced a composed and disciplined performance to beat KF Istogu 2-0 in their Kosovo Division 1 clash on September 13, 2026. The home side scored twice after the break and kept a clean sheet, securing three valuable points in a match that was often tense but ultimately decided by Ferizaj’s sharper finishing and better control of the midfield.

Played under the lights at a lively Ferizaj ground, the game carried extra weight as a local rivalry fixture. Both teams began cautiously, but KF Ferizaj gradually imposed themselves, pressing higher and forcing Istogu into rushed clearances. The breakthrough arrived in the second half, and once the first goal went in, the hosts never looked likely to surrender their advantage.

Match Overview

KF Ferizaj set up in a flexible 4-2-3-1 shape, looking to get their wide players running at the Istogu full-backs. KF Istogu responded with a compact 4-4-2, hoping to stay organised and hit on the counter. For much of the first half, the visitors succeeded in slowing the game down, but they struggled to keep possession long enough to relieve pressure.

The decisive period came after the interval. Ferizaj increased the tempo, won more second balls in midfield, and created better chances from the channels. The second goal effectively settled the contest, allowing the home side to manage the closing stages with maturity.

Key Moments

• First half: KF Ferizaj dominated territory but were denied by a combination of last-ditch defending and a sharp save from the Istogu goalkeeper.
• Opening goal: A quick move down the right ended with a low cross that was converted from close range, sending the home supporters into celebration.
• Second goal: Ferizaj doubled the lead with a well-worked attack, as a midfield runner broke into the box and finished calmly past the goalkeeper.
• Late resistance: KF Istogu pushed bodies forward in the final minutes, but Ferizaj’s back line stayed disciplined and protected the clean sheet.

Tactical Story

The match was shaped by Ferizaj’s ability to win the ball back quickly. Their midfield duo screened the defence effectively and allowed the attacking players to stay high up the pitch. Istogu’s best moments came when they switched play quickly, but too often their final pass was delayed or inaccurate.

Ferizaj also managed the game intelligently after taking the lead. Rather than chasing a third goal recklessly, they kept their shape, forced Istogu to pass sideways, and looked dangerous on the break. It was a mature home performance in the Kosovo Division 1 campaign.

Standout Performers

The KF Ferizaj forward line deserved credit for their movement, but the foundation was laid by the midfield and defence. The goalkeeper was alert when called upon, while the centre-backs dealt well with crosses and set pieces. For KF Istogu, the goalkeeper kept the score respectable with several important stops, and their captain tried to drive the team forward from midfield.

Table and Season Impact

With the 2-0 win, KF Ferizaj strengthen their position in the Kosovo Division 1 standings and add another positive result to their home record. The three points will boost confidence ahead of a demanding run of fixtures. KF Istogu, meanwhile, leave with no points but can take some encouragement from their defensive organisation before the goals came. The KF Ferizaj vs KF Istogu result will be remembered as a controlled derby victory for the hosts.
