Rodez Aveyron cruised to a 2-0 victory over Inter Club d'Escaldes in an international club friendly on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Stade Paul-Lignon. The French Ligue 2 side showed their superior quality with a professional performance against the Andorran champions.

Match Overview

This friendly was part of Rodez's preparations for their upcoming league campaign, while Inter Club d'Escaldes used the match as a test against higher-level opposition. The gulf in class was evident early on, with Rodez dominating possession and creating chances at will. Inter defended deep, trying to limit the damage, but Rodez's movement and passing were too much. The home side took the lead inside 15 minutes and never looked back.

Key Moments

• 12' – Goal: Rodez opened the scoring when Killian Corredor finished off a slick team move. The striker exchanged passes with Lucas Buades before firing low into the corner.
• 38' – Chance: Rodez's Bradley Danger hit the post with a powerful header from a corner.
• 64' – Goal: The second goal came from the penalty spot. Lucas Buades was brought down in the box, and Killian Corredor stepped up to score his second of the night, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way.
• 79' – Save: Inter Club d'Escaldes' goalkeeper Iván Fernández made a stunning double save to deny Rodez a third.

Tactical Story

Rodez Aveyron manager Didier Santini used the match to experiment with a 4-3-3 formation, giving minutes to several squad players. The front three of Corredor, Buades, and Andréas Hountondji caused constant problems with their pace and interchanging positions. Inter Club d'Escaldes, managed by Federico Bessone, set up defensively with a 5-4-1, but they struggled to retain the ball, often giving it away cheaply. Despite the loss, the Andorran side will have gained valuable experience from facing a professional French team.

Standout Players

Killian Corredor was the obvious star with his two goals, showcasing his finishing ability. Lucas Buades was creative and won the penalty. For Inter Club d'Escaldes, goalkeeper Iván Fernández was excellent, making several saves to keep the score down, while captain Marc Pujol tried to organize his defense.

Season Impact

As a friendly, there are no league points at stake, but Rodez will be pleased with a clean sheet and a confident attacking display ahead of their Ligue 2 campaign. Inter Club d'Escaldes continue their preparations for the Andorran Primera Divisió season, where they will aim to defend their title.
