Stranraer 4–0 Dundela | International Club Friendly | 27 June 2026
Stranraer delivered an emphatic 4‑0 victory over Northern Irish visitors Dundela at Stair Park, producing their most complete performance of the pre‑season so far. The Scottish League One side were dominant from the first whistle and never gave the opposition a foothold.
Early dominance
Stranraer opened the scoring in the 8th minute. A quick break down the right flank ended with a low cross that was turned home at the near post. The hosts doubled their lead just before the 20‑minute mark when a speculative effort from 25 yards took a deflection and looped over the Dundela goalkeeper.
Ruthless second half
Any hopes Dundela had of a comeback were extinguished early in the second half. Stranraer added a third goal from a corner, with a powerful header giving the goalkeeper no chance. Ten minutes later, the home side capped off the scoring with a well‑worked team goal: a one‑two on the edge of the box followed by a composed finish into the far corner.
Defensive solidity
Stranraer’s back four, protected by a hard‑working midfield, barely allowed Dundela a clear sight of goal. The visitors’ only real chance came from a long‑range free‑kick that went straight into the arms of the Stranraer keeper. Clean sheets in friendlies are always valuable, and the defensive unit looked well‑organised.
Player of the match
Stranraer’s attacking midfielder was at the heart of everything good, providing two assists and scoring one himself. His movement between the lines caused constant problems for the Dundela defence.
What lies ahead
Stranraer will hope to carry this momentum into their next friendly. Dundela, still early in their pre‑season programme, will look to tighten up defensively and improve their ball retention.
