Team Info

Catania FC is a historic Italian football club from Sicily, currently competing in Serie C, the third tier of Italian football. The team plays its home matches at the Stadio Angelo Massimino, a venue known for its passionate atmosphere. Founded in 1908, the club has been refounded several times, most recently in 2022, and is traditionally associated with the red and blue colors. Catania's history is one of passion and turbulence, with its peak era occurring in the 1960s and again in the mid-2000s when they enjoyed several seasons in Serie A. During those top-flight spells, they established a fearsome home record and a heated rivalry with fellow Sicilian side Palermo. The modern era has been difficult, marred by financial crises, relegations, and even exclusions from professional football before their recent rebirth in Serie C. The current project aims to restore the club to its former stature, building around a mix of experienced heads and local Sicilian talent. The fan base, known as the *Fossa dei Leoni*, is famously fervent and remains the club's bedrock through all its trials. Catania is a club defined by its fiery Sicilian identity and an unwavering hope for revival.
