Team Info
The Maldives U20 national football team is the youth representative of the island nation, operating under the Football Association of Maldives. This team competes in South Asian and AFC age-group competitions, with the dream of reaching the AFC U20 Asian Cup finals. Hailing from Malé, the players are often sourced from local clubs and youth setups across the archipelago. The Maldives has invested significantly in youth development in recent years, and the U20 side is a key component of that strategy. They play their home games at the National Football Stadium in Malé. The team's style often reflects the technical, possession-based football the nation aspires to play. While facing stiff competition from larger Asian nations, the Young Eagles, as they are sometimes known, have recorded memorable victories in regional tournaments, providing hope for the future of Maldivian football and feeding talent into the senior national team setup.
